Frequently Asked Questions

What is a lottery number generator?

It picks random numbers for you, the same way a quick pick machine works at a store. Ours runs in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues(), which is the same randomness source banks use. You pick the game, hit generate, and get numbers. Nothing fancy, just properly random.

How do lottery odds calculators work?

They do the combination math so you don't have to. You tell it the game format (say, pick 5 from 69 plus 1 from 26 for Powerball) and it calculates the exact probability for each prize tier. Powerball jackpot odds are 1 in 292,201,338. The math is straightforward but the numbers are large enough that doing it by hand is tedious.

What are hot and cold lottery numbers?

Hot numbers have been drawn more often recently. Cold numbers have not shown up in a while. Some players use this to pick numbers, but here is the thing: each draw is independent. The ball machine has no memory of previous results. Frequency analysis is interesting to look at, but it does not change your odds.

What is a lottery wheeling system?

A wheel spreads your chosen numbers across multiple tickets in a structured way. If you pick 10 numbers for a pick-6 game, a full wheel covers all 210 possible combinations. An abbreviated wheel might use 20 tickets instead and still guarantee a 4-number match if 4 of your 10 numbers come up. It costs more tickets but gives you better coverage.

Are dream numbers real?

They are a real cultural tradition, not a real prediction method. In South Africa, the Fafi system maps dream symbols to numbers 1 through 36. Italy has La Smorfia, which dates back centuries. People use these because it makes the game more personal. The numbers themselves have no statistical advantage.

Can you predict lottery numbers?

No. Lottery draws use physical ball machines or certified random number generators. Each draw is independent of every previous draw. No pattern, no system, and no software can tell you what comes next. What tools can do is help you pick numbers systematically instead of guessing, and help you understand what you are actually playing for.

About Lottery Calculators

This site has 13 lottery calculators that run in your browser. No accounts, no downloads, no data collected. They cover Powerball, Mega Millions, EuroMillions, UK 49s, and 7 other games. You can generate numbers, check odds for every prize tier, see which numbers have been drawn most, or figure out how much you would actually take home after taxes.

What You Can Do

Resources & Guides

Everything runs client-side. The number generator uses your browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API, which is the same randomness source used in cryptography. We chose it because Math.random() is not actually random enough for this. If you want to understand the math behind lottery games, the blog has 23 articles covering odds, taxes, wheeling systems, and common mistakes players make.
