EuroJackpot

EuroJackpot is a transnational European lottery that launched on March 23, 2012. It is played in 19 European countries including Germany, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain, among others. Created as a competitor to EuroMillions, EuroJackpot quickly became one of Europe's most popular lottery games. The maximum jackpot is capped at 120 million euros, and the game features a two-drum format similar to EuroMillions but with different number pools.

Select 5 main numbers from 1 to 50 and 2 Euro Numbers from 1 to 12. Ticket prices vary by country but are typically around 2 euros. Match all 7 numbers to win the jackpot. There are 12 prize tiers, awarding prizes for matching as few as 2 main numbers plus 1 Euro Number.

EuroJackpot drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at approximately 9:00 PM CET in Helsinki, Finland.

The jackpot starts at 10 million euros and can grow up to a maximum of 120 million euros. At the cap, the jackpot stays at 120 million for up to 7 additional draws. If still not won, it rolls down to the next tier. There are 12 prize tiers in total.

EuroJackpot has considerably better jackpot odds (1 in 139.8 million) compared to US lotteries. The twice-weekly draws mean more frequent opportunities. The game offers a good balance of prize size and winning probability.

EuroJackpot was created as a joint venture between European lottery organizations to compete with EuroMillions. It started with 7 countries in March 2012 and has expanded to 19. In March 2022, a second weekly draw was added on Tuesday, and the jackpot cap increased from 90 million to 120 million euros.
